Reach Community Health Centre

Standing for Research, Education, and Action for Community Health, The REACH Centre was developed in 1969 by paediatrician Dr. Roger Tonkin as a site for University of British Columbia Medical residents to gain practical medical experience in the community. Over the years the clinic has grown beyond its educational roots to a full health centre, with an increased focus on immigrants, reflecting the multicultural makeup of our community. REACH has always been on Commercial Drive, and in 2017 it opened its new, expanded facility.

STATUS:

The REACH Community Health Centre is committed to providing a safe environment for everyone working and accessing services at our community health centre during the COVID-19 pandemic.  At this time, we have continued to provide critical multicultural, dental, pharmacy, urgent & primary care and medical services, both remotely and in-person.

As we move into Phase II of the provincial Re-start plan we review and modify our services as needed to maximize safety while allowing for as much access to services and care as possible. Together we can support each our and our community’s health.
